DIY Football Cookie Cutter (Unbelievably Cheap and Easy)
Have you ever wanted to know how to make a DIY football cookie cutter by reusing food cans you may already have in your house? Now that the NFL football season is here, it is time to start creating football decorations for your next football party! I thought it would be fun to share some of my DIY football decorations to get a head start preparing for an exciting game!
I love watching the NFL playoffs. I think there are some of the most exciting games of the season! Having playoff parties is even more fun than Super Bowl parties because each team is hungry to win to make it to the next round towards a coveted spot in the big game! I like making football food decorations to accent the decor with football snacks and treats.
One of my favorite football-themed foods to create are editable footballs. Chocolate covered strawberry footballs recipe is easy to make and always a big hit.
I also make my football-shaped brownies and mini apple pies. For this I needed a football-shaped cookie cutter. For some reason every time I want to make these, I realize at the last minute that I do not have a football cookie cutter. I looked around to find something I could use for a football cookie cutter. It then occurred to me that a tin can I could use for a makeshift football cookie cutter. I already opened cans to make football party food so I had different sizes ready to be used to try to make a DIY football cookie cutter.

I wanted to make football-shaped desserts for my Raven’s football party, I decided to make my football cookie cutter out of a reused can.
I cleaned it thoroughly, removed the lid from both the bottom and smashed it with my hands and voila, I have the perfect shaped football cookie cutter.
The nice thing is I can throw it out when I am done and remake the cookie cutter when I need it again. How easy is that?

Here I turned my brownies into edible footballs with my new football cookie cutter. I used a soup sized can but I think a tomato paste can would probably work better to make smaller, bite-sized footballs.
Happy Thanksgiving Gina…You must be reading my mind. Ordered cutters and the football was “dinky” I, like yourself, took a big pasta sized can and squished it …Voila, a nice size football and easiier to decorate..So nice to see younger generation, like you, using your god given mind. happy baking…your photos look yummy!
Happy Thanksgiving to you! Thank you for your comment…you are very kind. I love using things I already have to create, bake and just have fun with. That is why most of my craft designs focus on reusing.
