How I Made These Birthday Party Ideas
Soon after the lockdown started, one of the TV stations where I am a regular on-air contributor (WBAL), asked if I could create a DIY birthday party ideas segment. Even though everyone was stuck at home, they still wanted to find a way to make birthday parties memorable. This was one of my first remote TV segments so I hadn’t perfected my lighting issues. The call is a little dark but we made it work.
I decided to make Birthday Party Decoration Ideas using only things you have around your house. Just because we are stuck at home didn’t mean you couldn’t have great birthday party decorations! Since I love to reuse and repurpose household items, I wanted to design some awesome birthday party ideas that anyone could easily recreate to make the party design memorable.
First I wanted to decide on a theme for the birthday party. Once I determine the type of party I want to make, the ideas for designs came much easier. I wanted something happy and fun so I came up with a sweet theme. I could incorporate ice cream, cupcakes, and candy all in my birthday party ideas.
The first thing I designed was the ice cream cone DIY birthday party hat ideas. Since I needed to use things that everyone probably had around their house, I thought that the party hat would be easy for people to make.
I had brown paper for the sugar cone, cotton balls for the ice cream, and colorful paper for the sprinkles. Everyone probably had a bottle of white school glue that can be used to put everything together. Even someone who isn’t a crafter could quickly make these fun ice cream cone paper caps.
Here are the birthday party decorations I created for the segment.
