Create a Bistro Style Chalkboard
I have always loved the beautiful Bistro Style Chalkboards you see in cute little restaurants and coffee shops. I wondered how they made such stylish lettering and I wanted to learn how to do this. I discovered an easy way to recreate the look of these this trendy design without having amazing handwriting. I created my own chalkboard and chalk lettering for my Mother’s Day TV segment. I love the way it came out and it is actually easy to make. You can use this technique to design any theme you would like. I am also showing an example of a Menu. Here’s how I did it!

Instructions to Make the Bistro Style Chalkboard
Design the lettering configuration and font that you wish to appear on the chalkboard and print out on to a piece of paper.
Rub chalk on the back of the paper, covering all of the lettering.
Using removable double-sided tape, attach the printout to the chalkboard.
Use a pen to trace the outline of the letters and decorative borders.
Remove the paper to reveal the trace lines of your lettering.
Use chalk or a chalk marker to trace the outline and fill in the letters.
Cut wooden trim to match the size of the chalkboard sides and top. Paint trim and accents, adding a darker color for the distressed look.
Using a hot glue gun, attach the border and accents to the frame.
